Powerboat festival for Galway this June

Galway is bracing itself for another maritime festival this summer.

The Galway Powerboat Festival is to take place from June 5^th to 12^th. A variety of racing events are planned, including the P1 Superstock Championships, P750 racing and jet ski time trials. Organisers are hoping that the event will create a showpiece event both on and off the water that will highlight Ireland and our marine and boating tourism potential.

Apart from the action on the water, the docks area of the city will come alive with music, festival food and craft markets. Over 20 acts are to appear over the eight-day festival including Crystal Swing, the Cartoon Thieves, Black Magic Band and the Timber Tramps who will perform live from the centre pier on the docks.
