Hollywood icons appear in the Quad

The austere structure that is the Quad has had at least one little section become more inviting with the crypt like bathrooms in the Quad being recently refurbished. Gone are the cold pastels and tiles to be replaced by warm creams, browns and dark woods . Adorning the walls are large images of Hollwood icons Marilyn Monroe (ladies) and James Dean (mens).

According to Greg Power, NUIG's Project and Planning 0fficer said, "These posters are to denote which is for the ladies or for the gents and the posters were selected due to the familiarity of the faces and for no other underlying reasons. It would not be unusual or in any way inappropriate to see background images from Hollywood in lifts, restaurants, service areas, toilets etc. They were inexpensive, are reasonably effective and also add some interest to the spaces."
